Vouchers: issue, redeem and correct
Track customer voucher value and its history separately in USD or LBP.
Access and value
Company owners and administrators use the enabled Vouchers module. A voucher belongs to a customer and one currency. Its face value is the issued amount; remaining value reflects redemptions and corrections. Issuing a voucher is not a payment receipt and does not collect money.
Issue a voucher
- Open Vouchers and choose the issue action. Select an active customer, a unique voucher code and USD or LBP.
- Enter the face amount, issue date and reference. An optional expiry date must be on or after the issue date.
- Save and inspect the register. Confirm the customer, currency, face value and remaining value before using the voucher.
Redeem part or all of the value
- Find the voucher and choose Redeem. Enter the amount, date and a reference for the use.
- The amount must fit within the remaining value. The date cannot precede issuance or be in the future.
- Inspect History and the new remaining value. Expired vouchers cannot be redeemed by backdating a new entry to a date before expiry.
Reverse or void
- To correct a redemption, use its reversal action, enter the correction date and reference, and confirm. The original movement stays recorded.
- Before voiding a voucher, reverse any outstanding redemptions so the remaining amount equals the face value.
- Use Void with a reason and confirmation. Voiding is not a refund and does not send money to the customer.
- A void voucher accepts no further movements. Do not issue a replacement merely to hide the original history.
Review and export
Use the register to inspect current value and status. Filter by customer, voucher, currency or search text; History also supports date ranges. CSV exports follow those filters. USD and LBP values are not added into one monetary total. The demo contains fictional active, redeemed and void examples for testing.
